I like swimming- but not so much in my clothes and shoes- and not so much in thirty degree water.

Well, have you tried it?

I live in Ohio. We get more rainfall here than in some tropical places. Central Ohio is mostly “reclaimed wetlands,” aka: a drained swamp. It is rare for a day to go by without some form of precipitation dropping from the sky, and rarer still for for me to avoid being caught outside in the middle of it. I know what it is to be fully clothed and fully drenched, in freezing temperatures, (and usually a driving wind to boot) and I don’t like it. Not one bit. If I’m going to go swimming- which I do enjoy- give me a heated indoor pool. 🙂

In a Ripley’s Believe it or Not museum, there was an exhibit that had you put your hand in water the same temperature as the water that swallowed the Titanic. The idea was to see how long you could hold your hand in it. The wimp in me barely made it a few seconds. But it made a big impression on me. Needless to say, I won’t be in the polar bear club.

That would be an interesting experiment to try. Until then, I don’t know about my qualifications for the polar bear club, and will have to be satisfied with my membership in the Moose Club.

This is not your little sister’s Titanic.

Smak,
This image would like better if it was in 3D.
